The first book in the series
Maybe Maybe Marisol Rainey is the first book in this charming series. In it, we are introduced to young Marisol and her great big imagination. Even bigger than her imagination? The tree in her backyard! She names this beautiful Magnolia tree Peppina, and though Marisol longs to climb it, she’s actually way too scared to try.
The daughter of a Philippino mother and a Dad who is always in Mexico for work, Marisol already feels different than the other kids in her small town. Is she also the only girl in town that’s scared of adventure — and even scared of fun?
Marisol has some challenges on her hands. She has to find a way to save her summer, have fun with her best friend Jada, and maybe – just maybe – conquer her fear of climbing Peppina.

The second book in the series
In the second book, Surely Surely Marisol Rainey, Marisol has a Terrible Thursday. Why? Because she hears the five worst words in the world from her PE coach, Coach Decker. “Next week, we start kickball!”
Marisol has never played kickball before, but she already knows she won’t be good at it. She’s no good at team sports, after all, because if you mess up, you mess things up for everyone. And Marisol does not like being in the spotlight.
There are so many things that can go wrong. Will Marisol find a way to make things go right?
