Herve Tullet’s Press Here Book Will Hook Your Readers Instantly!

Herve Tullet’s wildly popular interactive book, Press Here, will hook your young readers from the very first page. After all, what child wouldn’t be intrigued by a book that begs to be touched, pushed, and shaken?

I got Press Here when my oldest son was born, and I could not wait for him to get bigger so we could read it together. The book mesmerized me, an adult, because it was so unique and innovative. I did not doubt that my kiddo would love it too, the second he could follow some simple instructions.

Press Here is a mesmerizing read aloud book!

Herve Tullet’s Press Here book is a fun, tactile read. It is not your typical picture book, complete with a three-act plot, engaging characters, and a lesson or moral to be learned. Instead, it is an interactive read and allows the child to be the grand master of the “story.”

So what does that mean, exactly?

On each page of Press Here, the reader is invited to take some form of action to manipulate the dots in the book. They can press, shake, tap, blow or clap, and with each page turn, kids watch with wonder as the multi-colored dots “respond” to the child’s physical input. The dots multiply, change sizes, switch colors, travel around the pages. — and sometimes, the reader blows so hard on the book he turns the lights out and some of the dots disappear!

My son, my students, and every other kid I know eats the Press Here book up. Children never fail to squeal with delight as they interact with the dots on every page and make their own magic happen. And as if the magic they make isn’t enough, Press Here is a great book to help kids learn how to follow a simple sequence of instructions and to teach children about cause and effect in a fun and unique manner.

Added bonus — all of the pressing and tapping and shaking and clapping is great for kids who need some help refining their fine motor skills.

Herve Tullet's Press Here Book

If Herve Tullet’s Press Here book is not already in your library, you need to get it, stat, especially if you have a 3-year-old! And the same goes if you are an educator. This book makes for a great group read-aloud – with kids taking turns — and therefore taking ownership — as they make the magic happen on each page.

I promise you, this one will provide endless fun and will be a repeat read in your home or classroom.
