I love any book that empowers girls to be all that they can be. And when those books are done in creative, fun and unique ways, all the better. Don’t get me wrong – I love picture book biographies and anthologies as much as the rest of you. But I also love books about strong girls that are just pure fun, and this one takes the cake! In Chick’s Rule!, Nerdy Chick has been dying to get to the Rocket Club meeting. But when she arrives and steps up to the door, she finds quite an unsettling sign: “NO CHICKS ALLOWED!!” First she’s confused, then upset, then Nerdy Chick is downright angry.

When she sets out to change the rules, she meets a lot of like minded, determined gals along the way, gals like Soccer Chick and Yoga Chick and Hippie Chick and Writer Chick.
